Before you start
You need access to ChatGPT settings that support custom connectors. You also need a LinkedIn account you can authorize. The scheduler only publishes after you approve and schedule content.
Step 1: Copy the connector URL
Open the Agented Scheduler install panel and copy the connector URL. The URL is the bridge between ChatGPT and the scheduler service.
Step 2: Add the connector in ChatGPT Developer mode
In ChatGPT, open Settings. Go to Apps & Connectors, open Advanced settings, and enable Developer mode. Then return to Connectors, choose Create, paste the connector URL, and save the connector.
If the labels in ChatGPT differ slightly, look for the area where custom connectors can be created and pasted by URL.
Step 3: Tell ChatGPT to use the app by name
This is the part many users miss. After installing the connector, do not only ask ChatGPT to write a post. Start the request by naming the app:
Use Agented Scheduler to write a LinkedIn post from this idea, preview it, and schedule it for tomorrow at 9:30.
The phrase Use Agented Scheduler makes it clear that ChatGPT should call the scheduler tools instead of only replying with text.
Step 4: Create your scheduler account
On first use, the app asks you to create a scheduler account with email and password. That account keeps your scheduler records separate from other users.
Step 5: Sign in to LinkedIn during setup
After account creation, the LinkedIn sign-in opens as part of the setup flow. Authorize LinkedIn so the scheduler can publish posts you approve for your profile.
Step 6: Preview, schedule, and manage
Once connected, you can use natural language prompts:
Use Agented Scheduler to preview this post before I publish it.Use Agented Scheduler to schedule this post for Friday at 8:45 AM.Use Agented Scheduler to show my monthly calendar.Use Agented Scheduler to list my scheduled posts and cancel the third one.
What the widgets do
The editor lets you change post copy, time, image, and alt text. The preview widget shows the post before it goes live. The list widget shows your queue and cleanup actions. The calendar widget gives a daily, weekly, or monthly planning view.
